Tucked in a very quiet and serene neighborhood of South Lake Tahoe, Sutter Trail Sparkles is a cozy, inviting home away from home. Sweeping pine trees envelop the property, while a wealth of modern comfort keeps you company indoors. The living area is sprawling, boasting high vaulted ceilings, comfy seating arrangement, a foosball table, board games, and a Smart TV for watching all of your favorite apps like Netflix. Large sliders overlook the stunning outdoor patio which has plenty of seating, string lights and even bean bag toss! Savor al-fresco meals, bask in the crisp Alpine air, or head indoors to curl up in the sauna after a long day on the slopes.

TAHOE RENTAL ORDINANCE
The following laws were set forth by the county and apply to every home in Tahoe. They were put in place to keep Lake Tahoe an enjoyable and safe place to visit for years to come!
1. The hot tub cannot be used after 10pm (if this home has one)
2. 10pm - 8am is the county quiet time for all rentals.
3. Trash cannot be left outside and must go into the bear box.
4. We cannot host extra people or allow parties.
5. We cannot accomodate extra cars, parking on the street or dirt.
PLEASE NOTE: Neighbors may alert the police who will issue fines to guests found to be in violation. In order to protect this owner’s permit we do reserve the right to ask guests to leave this home. This is a very rare occurrence and one we hate doing so we do our best to warn our guests before it comes to this.
6. The number of overnight occupants shall not exceed two persons per permitted bedroom. Children six years of age or older are counted towards the occupancy limits.

WINTER TRAVEL ADVISORY
A typical storm in Tahoe can drop anywhere from 1-3 feet in 24 hours so if you haven’t been to Tahoe during a heavy Winter, please take note. The roads and driveways in Tahoe are only plowed when snow accumulates to more than 6 inches so if it snowed less than that or you are coming during an active storm, you will arrive to snow on the roads leading up to this home and on the driveway. Since street parking is not allowed during the Winter, you will need to drive over the snow either using chains or with your 4WD engaged (or both) and onto the driveway. Especially after the historic Winter of 2023, we do not recommend coming to Tahoe unless you have a higher clearance 4WD vehicle with snow tires, tire chains and experience driving in the snow. Always bring chains no matter what kind of car you have. Even if it’s not actively snowing, Tahoe roads are steep and icy. Power outages are also common. The Grand Welcome difference is we have a very experienced local team who are here to help you during your stay – as long as safety allows. If we can get to you, we will come help! Not all hosts have this kind of local support so this is the benefit to booking a Grand Welcome home!

- KEEP TAHOE BLUE: Please help us keep Tahoe a natural wonder by appropriately disposing of trash when visiting our beaches and trails. If you pack it in, please pack it out.

- LATE CHECK OUT: Please let us know 24 hours prior to check out if you wish to request a late check out. First hour is free then $25/hour after that, not to exceed 1pm. Please note our cleaners sometimes travel for up to 1 hour to clean this home so we ask that you please respect the 10am check out time.
- NO AC: Unless otherwise specified there is no AC but we do provide plenty of fans.
- STARTING SUPPLIES: We provide a STARTING set of supplies which includes 1 roll of paper towels, 1-2 rolls of TP per bathroom, etc. Depending on your parties usage, you may need to buy or bring more. Our local team is always on stand by as well.
- HIGH FIRE RISK: Lake Tahoe is a high-risk fire area. Fireworks, wood fire pits, smoking/improper disposal of cigarette butts and charcoal bbq’s are prohibited.
- BLACK BEARS: Black bears inhabit Lake Tahoe and are attracted to food and trash. Always lock your car doors, roll up windows and view from afar. Please do not feed our bears.
- TOWELS: We supply one bath towel, one wash cloth per occupant and then one hand towel per bathroom. We do this to limit laundry for the cleaners and it’s less wear and tear on the washer/dryer. If you feel you will need more towels, please bring them. Hot tub and beach towels are not provided.
- SECURITY: Most of our homes have exterior-only security cameras and noise decibel monitoring systems to ensure we are in compliance with the county ordinance but we take our guests privacy VERY seriously. There is never indoor cameras. Most owners only look to see bears and snow levels at their homes.
- MOUNTAIN CRITTERS: It’s not uncommon at any home in Tahoe to find little mountain mice, spiders, spider webs, ants, mosquitos, etc. Our homes have on-going extermination services but despite our best efforts, these little critters might make their way inside. If found it doesn’t mean a home is dirty it’s just apart of mountain life. Please let us know and we will do our best to mitigate such findings.

House rules

  1. By booking this home you agree to the county rental laws and the following house rules. Failure to abide by any of the below items may result in an eviction with no refund. We don’t like doing it but in order to keep our owners rental permits intact, sometimes it has to be done. Vast majority of our guests have no issue but every once in a while we do get a rowdy group. We do our best to communicate with you long before it leads to an eviction so please have your booking cell phone on you during your stay. Message us if you have any questions or concerns and we appreciate your understanding on the matter 🙂
  2. COUNTY LAWS & HOUSE RULES
  3. Must be 25 or older to book this home.
  4. Strictly no hot tub use after 10pm - only if applicable!
  5. 10pm - 8am is the county quiet time for all all rentals.
  6. Trash goes into the bear box only and is not to be left outside.
  7. We cannot host extra people or allow parties.
  8. No extra cars, parking on the street OR on the dirt.
  9. No smoking on the premises and especially no flicking cigarette butts.
  10. No open flame fires, fire works, bonfires, etc - due to high fire risk.
  11. No yelling, blasting music, fighting or other loud noise that could disturb the neighbors.
  12. No pets unless the home is specifically pet friendly. We do host service animals unless the owners are allergic as it is then a health and safety issue. Please contact us to double check.

  14. DAMAGE
  15. You are covered for any accidental damage and then anything seen as neglectful, you will be charged. It’s best to report all damage to us right away so the appropriate measures can be taken. If you treat this home as if it were your own, then you should be fine.

One regret but that’s my fault

The house was very spacious. Clean, comfy, and easy to get to from town. Only issue was the house is not equipped for cooks. BUT I also did not reach out to managers before I got there to request pots, pans and baking dishes. I’m going to assume they would have been happy to provide. Other than that, sauna was inside and very large. I’d stay there again with some better preparation on my part. We love to cook!

Fantastic Clean home in an excellent location

The neighborhood was quiet and peaceful. The house was spacious and clean with nice amenities. The backyard was great to sit and relax and we really enjoyed using the Sauna. The bed's were a bit springy (could always feel when the other person moved or adjusted) and they could use some larger frying pans in the kitchen. Other than that we would absolutely stay here again.

Note that if kids are running around downstairs, the noise travels fairly easily upstairs to all the bedrooms. Living area and kitchen is spacious, dining table could be bit bigger but not a big deal. Sauna is a bit plus! Location is nice, close to the lake and stores/restaurants (10-15 min drive). Pictures were as described. Kitchen tools could be improved to match the description of a chef serving culinary creations - a whisk and a real cutting board. Overall, really liked this place and would rent again.

Mostly good, few downers

Overall a good place. However a few things that prevent it from being a five star experience: 1) Lack of kitchen supplies. Very few tools. Only things available were a small thing of sugar and salt. No foil, wrap... Basically bare minimum. 2) Check out time was early. 3) No recreation supplies. Basically it felt like a rental. They give you a little hotel soap but nothing else that makes vacation rentals feel above.

It is not designed to be an unlimited supply but, rather, to get a typical reservation through a weekend or get folks started so that they can enjoy their arrival days, take inventory, and pick up whatever else is needed to get them through their trip. Prior to each stay, we stock dish soap, laundry detergent, a roll of paper towels, toilet paper, a dish brush to wash dishes, a few trash bags, dishwasher detergent, bar soap, and the standard bathroom amenities you might find in a hotel. Our check-out time is set in a way that ensures that our housekeeping team has as much time as possible to clean and sanitize the property. Due to the fact that we are currently in a pandemic, we have to put our guest's safety first. Let us assure you that we value your feedback, and your comment about the home having no recreation supplies has been passed along to the homeowner for consideration. Mostly good, few downers

Overall a good place. However a few things that prevent it from being a five star experience: 1) Lack of kitchen supplies. Very few tools. Only things available were a small thing of sugar and salt. No foil, wrap... Basically bare minimum. 2) Check out time was early. 3) No recreation supplies. Basically it felt like a rental. They give you a little hotel soap but nothing else that makes vacation rentals feel above.

Perfect Place

Just as advertised. Sauna was a great plus after a hard day on the mountain. Other reviews were critical of the neighbors being a hassle but I didn't run into those issues thankfully, probably because during the winter we were mostly indoors and them as well. I would definitely rent this place out again.

Amazing home

The house was perfect size for our family which was 5 adults and two children. The home was a good location and very clean. Only complain, which is out of the owners control, was a neighbor across the street was very rude. The porch light and Christmas lights around the garage automatically turned on and the neighbor across the street began to shout at us saying “ you don’t live here!! It’s not Christmas !! YOU DON’T live here, turn off the lights!!” We didn’t even turn the lights on on purpose and he was just really rude shouting at us from across the street. Otherthan that incident, we had a great time and the home was very clean and a short drive to stores/shopping centers.

Wonderful rental!

Upgrades throughout, everything looks new inside, and it has a big beautiful backyard with a table to sit on the porch. Location is great , ten minutes from all the main areas of South Lake Tahoe and a very quiet neighborhood. Walking distance to a nice trail. Would definitely stay here again!
