2BR + Loft for 6 w/Private Hot Tub & Ocean Views!

This is a great sea Ranch property. It is a good balance of close to the ocean at a reasonable price. Highway one is right behind the property, but the noise did not bother us. The place is very well updated with lots of great amenities, including an espresso maker. It was very clean and has a great layout. The only thing that was a little hard to use was the outside patio area as there was a lot of dirt on the table and chairs so we did not eat outside. The location is great and it is easy to walk down to the beach.

Beautiful view and perfect location - kitchen had every appliance and amenity needed. BYO spices, olive oil, etc. Our family enjoyed the easy access to Shell Beach, regular visits from our favorite deer family, and soaking in the hot tub. We have stayed many places at Sea Ranch and this rates as one of the best!

I spent three nights here in June 2026 and enjoyed my stay; I would happily stay here again. The neighborhood was quiet, the bed was comfortable, the kitchen was well-equipped, and I thought this house was a very good value. It’s just a half mile from the water, and the ten-minute walk down to the bluffs is on a beautiful trail. Once on the Bluff Trail you can walk for miles north or south. I took two two-hour walks and enjoyed the gorgeous coast. One thing to be aware of, however, is that you can’t assume that the Wi-Fi will work (although it worked fine for what I needed). As the house instructions explain, “We are rural, and the internet is NOT guaranteed. Outages happen often. We will not provide compensation for outages of Wi-Fi. We will not service Wi-Fi during your stay.” If you have critical business to do that requires Wi-Fi, The Sea Ranch is probably not the place to do it.

Kitchen was well equipped it even had a teapot! Very nice living space.Lots of great walks from the house and the chapel is within walking distance.Fairly near hwy 1 and I could hear the cars from the second bedroom . But not annoyingly so and very few go by at night.I would return again.

We had a good experience at Starlight Reach. The one frustration was that there were several basics missing in the kitchen including salt/pepper, sugar, cooking oil or spray, and kleenex. Usually we have found these items at VRBO residences. Since stores are not close, it required a special trip up to Gualala.

We had a great stay. It was easy to check in and communication with them was extremely easy, usually a response within 10 minutes. It's backup up to highway 1, but we could not hear the highway and there was still a decent view.

This home is just as described and extremely clean. It is in the perfect location, surrounded by the sea, an abundance of walking trails and pure relaxation. I would highly recommend renting if staying in the area.

If you love nature this is the perfect place to be. There are many beaches and trails nearby. My husband and I saw animals during our stay that we don't typically see. Harbors seals, Humpback whale (that sadly was deceased) Turkey Vultures, Scrub jays, Red-shoulder hawk, Black-tailed jack rabbit, Douglas squirrel, Gray fox, Brown pelicans, Osprey, Sheep with even a time they were being hearded across a road into a field, and Black-tailed mule deer. The deer family were there every morning and evening in the yard. The sunsets were stunning. Sea Ranch has a noise and sound ordinance. This made for peaceful evenings. We would stand on the deck and look up to the clear sky to view the stars. The deck has access from the kitchen and the main bedroom. The main bedroom was spacious with high ceilings and a nice large shower. High ceilings are also in the small living area, dining and the kitchen. The kitchen is well equipped for cooking and baking. Gualala is a short drive to grocery stores and restaurants. We didn’t use the grill or hot tub or enjoy the puzzles and games provided. Cons. The kitchen doesn’t have ventilation for cooking so the entire house would smell. Many of the dishes and cups were broken. Some cooking utensils were rusted. The bedroom upstairs was musty smelling with handprints, smudges on the walls. We kept the door closed to this area.

We loved our stay! The house is big, beautiful, and very well maintained. It was very clean, and we enjoyed the hot tub and gourmet kitchen. All I needed was a private chef to make it perfect! Ha ha! We loved walking down to Shell Beach and even just hanging out on the deck. We were sad to leave, one week was just not enough!

We enjoyed staying at Starlight Ranch. It was my wife, my adult daughter and me. So we didn't really need the upstairs twin bed room, but it was a nice extra room for quiet activity.The kitchen was well stocked. If you plan to cook, a couple of things to note: Outdoor grill works well but the grilling area is small and the temp gauge is way off. There are few ways to save leftovers (i.e. tupperware) so bring saran wrap or ziplock bags. Two coffee makers: a fancy espresso machine and a basic drip one using basket filters, not cone filters or Keurig style cups. Salt and pepper are there but bring your own spices. Beds were comfortable, living room area comfortable, puzzles and board games provided. Easy walk to the coastal trail and beach. While the unit is close to the main road we did not hear any road noise. Hot tub worked well and we enjoyed using it. Overall, it is a good family option in Sea Ranch.

I’ve been coming to Sea Ranch for over 20 years as an adult and have never stayed in a home that did not have at least a handful of seasonings, let alone enough salt and pepper in the shakers. For such a well stocked house (dishes, blankets, towels) there were shockingly no basic spices. The fancy coffee maker was not functioning, even when my handyman husband attempted working on it. Luckily there was a basic coffee pot. The house was is nice size and very spacious, however the living room was small. Hot tube was nice to have and well kept. The house is situated by the road and far back from the bluffs. There was minimal road noise from the highway, but views of the ocean were limited. Overall the house was basic and functional.

Cons - it was a hassle making the reservation and getting check in. "reservation fee" to VRBO that wasn't expected and I received no receipt for. Too many forms to fill out including posting a selfie! Disappointed about no TV since we wanted to watch Warriors playoffs, but don't usually watch tv. Heater instructions needed in house notebook. Broken shades on master sliding door. Long walk to the beach. HINT - drive down Pacific Reach to the parking lot near Shell Beach- then enjoy the beach or coastal walking.PROS: VERY well equipped - best kitchen and dining equipment I've ever seen. Hot tub is great. Deck is lovely for sunning and watching sunset. Very nice comfy furniture. House very clean. My small dog was very happy!

This a very nice space. Close to trails to the beach and a 6 minute drive from Gualala. The place was very comfortable. The hot tub while it faced the road, was down in the deck so while you sat in it you felt protected. The kitchen had enough pots and pans, but only some salt and pepper and three spices and no oil. So if you plan on cooking you will need to bring all you food/condiments/spices yourself. We definitely would stay here again.

So far, Starlight Reach is our favorite rental in Sea Ranch. Hubs and I both cook and we were pleasantly surprised with the well stocked kitchen. We bring up a few already cooked casseroles, chili, snacks, etc. What is so nice are the comfy chair and couches to watch tv in. Some rentals fail at this. My favor, though. Is the visits to the hot tub at night under the full moon. The hot tub is very private and a great place to relax after your beach hike.

The property manager, Grand Welcome, was very responsive and generously helped me out when there was an issue with my booking. The space was clean, cozy and functional, everything we needed for a beautiful weekend up in Sea Ranch. One note is that I was happy I brought some cooking essentials like olive oil, vinegar, and some spices as these items weren't provided. Walk along the roads to an easily-accessible trail that takes you along the bluffs with spectacular views of the coast line! Thank you for the stay.

My family of four stayed a few night at this comfortable Property. The home close to a nice short trail that takes you right down to the beach and also connects to the trails along the cliffs edge. There is a Harbor Seal view area along the trails which was a nice bonus. We picked up food in the town of Gualala(Short distance) and cooked several meals in the well stocked kitchen. In the evenings we played games on the large kitchen table and did some stargazing on the peaceful back deck(Sea Ranch is great for stargazing.) We would love to stay again in the future and explore more of the trails and surrounding area.
