Nestled Pines Retreat | Hot Tub, Game Room Near Heavenly & the Lake

We had a really fun ski weekend and the house has a lot going for it—great living room setup, huge TV with apps, hot tub, spacious kitchen, and a layout that works well for groups. That said, there were several issues. The night we were supposed to arrive, Tahoe roads were officially shut down due to a major storm and it wasn’t safe (or allowed) to travel. We requested a partial refund for that night since we physically couldn’t access the property, but it was denied. We understand policies exist, but the lack of flexibility was disappointing. On site, maintenance felt inconsistent: broken couch, limited hot tub towels, filthy toilet brush, missing basic kitchen tools (but somehow 8 can openers), a noticeable gap under the front door letting in cold air, and large icicles hanging directly over the hot tub. Communication was also fragmented—we spoke to someone different each time. Overall: solid house, but management and upkeep keep it at 3 stars for us.

That said, as outlined in our booking policies, weather-related travel disruptions are typically not eligible for refunds since the home itself remained available and operational. We always strongly recommend travel insurance during winter months for this reason. We truly regret that this policy felt inflexible during such an unusual storm. We also appreciate you bringing the maintenance concerns to our attention. The items you mentioned — including the couch, door gap, hot tub area, and kitchen inventory — have either already been addressed or are being reviewed to ensure they meet our standards. Feedback like this helps us improve, and we take it seriously. As for communication, we operate as a team to ensure coverage and timely responses, especially during high-demand storm weekends. While this can mean interacting with different team members, our goal is always consistent and helpful support. We’re sorry if that approach felt fragmented. We’re glad you had a fun ski weekend overall and appreciate the balanced feedback. It helps us continue improving both the home and the guest experience.

What an amazing property! The host had great communication and reasonably accommodating. The photos are spot on. This place was great for our two families. Absolutely loved the top floor living room area. Tons of space. The downstairs pool room was a great hangout spot, with the hot tub right outside. Location, location, location!! 10 mins from everywhere we needed to go. The neighborhood is beautiful and quiet. I definitely recommend this property. 10/10!

We had a nice stay at this place. The location is excellent and very convenient, which made our weekend much easier. The house was well equipped, especially the kitchen utensils, which were very useful during our stay. The bedsheets and towels were clean, and check-in and check-out were smooth. Overall, it’s a good place with great potential, and we enjoyed our time there.

The house itself was wonderful. Took full advantage of the living space, pool table, and hot tub. Could use with some amenity upgrades in regard to towel quality, linen quality and kitchen supplies. But we otherwise had a fantastic time here.

Beautiful cabin perfect for a mid-sized group. Centralized location away from the main streets in Tahoe. Pool table, hot tub and grill were all terrific. Parking wasn’t as difficult as it seems in the listing. Loved it.

Really enjoyed the property. Very spacious with nice amenities. I would’ve liked more paper products available, we had to shop for more paper towels and not that much toilet paper. Unfortunately, the pillows and bedsheets were a little worn and therefore not as comfortable as I would’ve liked. Also, the dining room table and chairs are higher than normal so elderly and small children might have a hard time with that situation. Love the hot tub & pool table and the surrounding area.

We had a fantastic stay at this Lake Tahoe home and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable and well-appointed Airbnb in the area.
