Willow's Hideaway - Pet Friendly Cozy Cabin!

This cute house was perfect for our family of 5 plus the pup. It’s located one block from Tahoe National Forest where we hiked and sledded so easily. (Note that the house does not have sleds or saucers so bring your own) and we went tubbing 5 minutes or less from the house, too. Highly recommended the home and a meal at Maria’s Mexican Restaurant, too!

We really enjoyed our stay here at this home. It had everything we needed. We specifically went to go sledding and there was a place to go that wasn’t too far away. My favorite thing about the house was that it had a fenced in backyard where the dogs could go and you didn’t have to worry about watching them. I also liked that it wasn’t a real big house, so it was cozy. The one thing I didn’t like was that there was snow on the deck and stairs in both the front and back. Even the driveway wasn’t all the way cleared of snow, which made it hard to fit the 2 cars. I understand that during bad weather it would be hard to keep up with that as now falls off the roof. But it hadn’t snowed in Tahoe for about 2 to 3 weeks, so I would have thought it would be a little more clear than that, making it less slippery. Since the warmer weather caused melting, and then it refroze at night, the leftover snow was more like slippery ice. Overall, I high recommend this home.

We do have professional snow-removal vendors who service the driveway and exterior areas; however, in mountain environments like Tahoe, conditions can change quickly. When vehicles or foot traffic compress snow before removal, it can turn into ice, and with daytime melting followed by nighttime refreezing, those icy patches can unfortunately persist for quite some time—even without recent snowfall. While we make every effort to maintain safe access, these weather patterns are sometimes beyond our control. That said, your comments are very helpful, and we’ll continue working with our vendors to address these areas as proactively as possible. Thank you again for staying with us and for recommending the home—we’d be happy to host you again in the future!

This home was such a great space for my party and I we loved the serenity found outdoors, the great sense of home as you enter Willows Hideaway , South Lake Tahoe already is a great place to go but being here at this home made it even better the home is spacious and deals with the cold weather very well, we would love to come back again !!!

Great place for a cozy weekend . The only thing that stood out was needing help regarding proper ventilation of fireplace. We asked management for proper position of flue to ensure smoke escapes, we followed the direction we were provide and unfortunately It didn’t work. We asked again and we received an automated text response. We asked if someone could come out ; but in the end we had no fire in the evenings for the family to enjoy . Outside of that ( and mother nature holding back on Snow ) lol ….We thought property was wonderful and would recommend and stay again

This place is in a great location with good amenities. I'd say our rating falls between 3.5-4 for the price relative to other places we've stayed in Tahoe. Improvements can me made in the communication method: at one point I had 2 text threads from 2 different phone numbers and an AirBnB messaging thread. Streamline to 1 communication channel. The wifi was not working at all and it was not related to the location or number of devices on the network. We were very grateful to have the hosts call Spectrum to come take a look and after about 45 min, they resolved the issue. It was a wiring issue that went unattended for a long time. Even if you're in the mountains to "disconnect" you need to be able to communicate with the outside world. By the time we checked out, we were out of dishwasher pods, paper towels, and toilet paper. Definitely expect more on this front. Overall, it was a nice stay with some oversights that are easily fixed for future renters.

As soon as you open the door you feel like you’ve grown up at Willow’s Hideaway as well. Welcoming, peaceful energy & cozy wood & stone decor. Little signs & instructions for appliances were straightforward. Perfect for a smaller group or just a couples getaway. Simple intimate lay out, you don’t feel faraway or too spread apart. Playing pool after dinner was fun. Looking up at several pine trees in the backyard & walking the neighborhood was like a peace of serene forest, yet just a short drive to downtown, Emerald Bay and Zypher cove. A Dog loving home with plenty of pet amenities that if you forgot something, there’s supply in the bottom cabinet. My guard dog Shar Pei loved patrolling his new domaine and my Cavalier King Charles spaniel conquered her fear of tall stairs. It was such a load off to feel like they too were welcomed. We kept body wipes and a paw wash station next to the slide door for easy in and outs. Cozy couch for movie nights & well equipped kitchen. 10/10!

We enjoyed our stay at this home. Loved the well stocked kitchen and how open the main room is. Comfy beds allowed for great sleep. It was a great home for our dogs too - fully fenced yard, poo bags, and close to trails for peaceful walks. Would definitely stay here again.

We absolutely loved our stay at Willows Hideaway, this beautiful cabin feel home had everything needed for our family. We were able to cook meals and bbq with ease. The attention to detail was greatly appreciated. Home is located right next to a walkable trail and a short distance from shopping and restaurants. Only 15 minutes from casino. I am extremely allergic to pet hair and dander I was worried my allergies would flare up since this is a pet friendly place the home was spotless not a problem for someone with asthma. Thank you again! We can’t wait to go back!

Clean and beautiful house. The neighborhood is so quiet. Everything you need from going to downtown or going to The beach is about 15-20 minutes away. There a walking trail right around the corner. I would definitely be back and would recommend to friends. My family really enjoyed it. Thank you

We enjoyed a very lovely family weekend with our dog. Cabin is well stocked and clean. Very dog friendly too. Excellent location to many restaurants and groceries stores. Conveniently located to many sites in South Lake Tahoe. Beds are very comfortable and the surroundings are nice and peaceful. Love that the dining table can be converted into a ping pong and pool table. My kids really enjoyed playing ping pong when we were at the cabin. The staff was very responsive and helpful. Would definitely recommend this place.

Very clean and beautiful chalet. Great for a family. An arcade machine and a lot of board games. The kitchen is well equipped and had everything you can think of. From Tupperware to ziplocks. We will come back

Willow's Hideaway is a great house with everything that you'll need to enjoy a vacation with your family and pet. The neighborhood is quiet and located near a couple of local golf courses, restaurants, grocery stores, etc. Kiva Beach is perfect for your water loving dog and only about 15 minutes away. The house itself is very comfortable and accommodating. Looking forward to booking this again.

Willow’s Hideaway was a fantastic choice for our family! It’s hard to find a NICE rental for 5-6 adults and our dog. This was perfect. The house was comfortable and clean and had room to gather for games and conversation! The beds were comfortable and everyone had room. It’s also close to Sierra at Tahoe ski resort which was convenient for our trip. We also enjoyed going into South Lake for some dinner and drinks. The fenced yard was so nice for our dog although he had to get used to the deep snow! We had one small plumbing incident and the management company responded quickly! We hope to return to this same location in the near future!!

This stay in this cabin at Tahoe was one of our favorites. This cabin was very well-equipped and we appreciated the enclosed backyard for our dogs; kids liked the billiard and game console. But first and foremost, the cabin was well-maintained and clean. Kitchen and bathrooms (towels and kitchen tools, etc. ) were very well kept which is very important to my every stay. Location was prime. The host was also responding immediately to our inquiries. I wouldn’t hesitate coming back to this place and I would highly recommend this cabin to friends and family. The only constructive criticisms I have is the check-in and check-out times. Check-in time at 4pm, in my opinion, is too late for our first day to enjoy the cabin’s yard since it gets dark pretty early in the winter time. Check-out time at 10am is also cutting our stay even shorter in the cabin. The dishwasher wasn’t functioning. The steps leading to the house and leading to the backyard were not adequately free of snow/ice, making it risky for a fall for our aged parents. Overall, this was a pleasant weekend stay. We loved the place and plan on coming back.
