We went to Carmel for a family wedding. Picked a larger home to sleep 4 families. Older home; stale smell. Heater did not work; blew cool air. Older plumbing; No toilet plunger could be found. Outdoor accessibility is unsteady for elderly guests due to hillside & staircases. I thought this home should be priced lower.

The home is spacious and in a great location. The kitchen is well stocked (but lacks towels and ice). However, there was a musty smell and lower floor bedroom windows don't open.

The house is great, it’s spacious. However if you have more than 5 or 6 people plan on sharing a bed. The bottom floor smells old and musty. We had to leave the windows open for our entire stay luckily it was a warm weekend. We did enjoy the morning walks into the village. Overall it was ok, some upgrades are necessary. New carpet or hardwood floors on the bottom floor may help with the old musty smell.

For the price, the home is in poor shape and needs some updates. Basement rooms are smelly and musty. It could use a thorough cleaning to get cobwebs out of corners and off of air vents. The slope into the garage is an issue if you have a low clearance vehicle. It will scrap your car every time. Location is nice and in a very quiet area. Easy to get to either Carmel or Monterey.

This is a great space with beautiful views of Carmel Bay and a relatively easy walk to downtown Carmel and the beach. Lots of room to fit guests and lots of great outdoor spaces and decks.

Very nice property. Located a bit further from the downtown area so it was quieter. Nestled up in the hill a bit so walking to and from downtown area was a bit difficult for those in our party that were not as mobile but otherwise we had some small children make the hike several times without any issues. Responsive host and everything worked as they should have.

Large and spacious! Walking distance from the town. Parking is limited if your group is coming from different areas, make sure to organize. The ramp in the driveway is pretty steep and scratched some of our cars. Otherwise, it a beautiful place, enjoyed the view and scenery. Place looks EXACTLY like the pictures. The pictures are kinda TOO accurate. You will be messaging a property management company so response time is slow and they will always need to request from upper management or get automated messages. But they are super accommodating :) Would go again!

We have a great stay in Carmel by the Sea. The house has very spacious common areas with high ceilings, a kitchen stocked with every utensil and appliance, and a BBQ grill. It was the perfect location for a 4th of July family reunion. The house was immaculately clean, and we had plenty of towels and even toiletries in the bathrooms. The decor on the main level and the primary bedroom suite is thoughtful and coordinated. We had access to a 2 car garage and even a garage opener to take with us in the car. My only suggestion for improvement is that the furniture in the non-primary bedrooms should not be an afterthought. The downstairs bedroom on the right had an old mattress with minimal padding, and the linens included an old polyester bedspread like you would find in a 1990's "bed in a bag." I think that at this price per night, all of the mattresses should be hotel quality. This is a minor inconvenience that is common on AirBnB, and I would definitely return to this home.

There were several issues we reported and was told they would be looked into. But things like an exposed carpet tack strip which left punctures on feet, seemed over the top. Hair on cosmetic washcloths, loose step on entry steps, a door to under the house that didn't lock and had rat traps lining it, just a lot of small things that added up to a negative impression of the house itself-beyond the very 70's nature of decor and fixtures. It badly needs a refresh. Not worth the $ especially for the cleaning and administrative charges.

We stayed with our family of two small kids and adults. The house was probably set up more for adults than for families -- the white furniture and dressings made us quite nervous with toddlers. The upstairs master is really nice, the main floor is ok (the views are amazing), and the downstairs with bedrooms is quite dated. The house is a bit older and surrounded by trees so it did smell musty... Lastly, the house is on a very steep hill with a very bump road. There is plenty of space to park in the garage but the slope into the garage is extremely steep

Great stay, spacious! Peaceful neighborhood close to pickleball courts. Steep hill climb back to the house from downtown if you’re expecting to walk into town a lot, but definitely doable. Responsive hosts

The house fit our family perfectly (three adult couples, one young child). It is spacious, clean, and the kitchen is well stocked with glassware, dishes, silverware, etc. The garage allows you to park off the narrow street, and even fit our rented Chevy Suburban! It is an easy three minute drive from the house to the heart of Carmel. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Enjoyed our time in Carmel. House worked great for our family. Appreciated the little touches like unscented laundry detergent and soaps around the house. Nice to have a garage you can park in. We enjoyed walking to and from town a couple of times, but mostly drove back-and-forth.
