Getting around Northstar is easy with the complimentary shuttle service, offering convenient pick-up and drop-off throughout the resort. Shuttle availability varies by season and demand, and guests can arrange rides by calling the number provided in unit or by using the Northstar Village Transit app for real-time service.

- Smoking is strictly prohibited inside and outside the property, including all Tahoe Donner facilities, parking lots, and open spaces — Lake Tahoe is a high-risk fire area.
- Fireworks, wood fire pits, and charcoal BBQs are also prohibited.
- No parties, events, or camping of any kind are allowed on the property — this includes tents, carts, and RVs.
- Do not move or rearrange the furniture.
- No pets.
- Outdoor lights must be turned off after 10:00 PM to enjoy the mountain stars and minimize light pollution.
- Parking off the pavement, on other persons' property or driveways, or on access easements is prohibited.
Quiet Hours
- Quiet hours are strictly enforced from 9:00 PM – 8:00 AM.
- Noise that is considered an unreasonable annoyance or nuisance to neighbors is prohibited after 10:00 PM.
Late Check-Out
- Check-out is at 10:00 AM — please note that our cleaners sometimes travel up to 1 hour to service this home, so we ask that you respect the check-out time.
- Late check-out requests must be received no later than 10:00 AM local time on the day prior to your departure.
- Early check-in and late check-out are based on availability, require prior approval, and may be subject to an additional fee of up to $60.00 depending on the number of hours requested.
Mountain Critters
- It is not uncommon to find small mountain mice, spiders, ants, mosquitoes, or other critters in Tahoe homes — this does not indicate that the home is unclean.
- Our homes have ongoing extermination services, but despite our best efforts, critters may occasionally make their way inside. Please let us know if you encounter any and we will do our best to address it promptly.
Bear Awareness
- Tahoe is bear country — please secure all food and lock your vehicles at all times.
- Do not leave garbage or food of any kind outside the home.
- All trash must be locked in your designated bear-proof container — never place trash in a neighbor's container.
Keep Tahoe Blue
- Please help us keep Tahoe a natural wonder by disposing of trash responsibly when visiting beaches and trails — if you pack it in, please pack it out.
Travel Insurance
- We strongly recommend purchasing travel insurance, as we are unable to issue refunds for circumstances such as COVID, smoke, fires, weather, snowstorms, or road closures.
Winter Travel Advisory
- Due to the potential for heavy snowfall, we recommend a 4WD vehicle with snow tires and tire chains, and experience driving in winter conditions.
- Tahoe roads can be icy and power outages are common — please wear snow boots and walk carefully on icy pathways at all times.
